A transition into a positive mindset in a dark age for mental health – post covid Brexit, a post global warming for a universal spirituality and new life. The spring season – daffodils for rebirth Sakura cherry blossom for renewal and the fleeting nature of life. Snowdrops for hope purity and sympathy for the fragile state of Goldsmiths and other UK art schools, strikes and their teaching staff following unfair pay. Sex positivity and gender equality LGBTIQQ+ a rebirthing and salvation. The past present and future, forgiveness, the power of the universe, the law of attraction, love and kama pure life, Pura Vida kama sutra.
Digital collage, public mural, council commission Euston Station London
2022
This mural was inspired by workshops held with group of young people from the Fitzrovia Youth in Action group.
A series of workshops, arranged by students from the University of the Arts London, were held to explore ideas around what Euston and the local area means to its residents and to passing commuters alike.
The design has movement and blurring to imitate viewing Euston from a moving vehicle or while walking through. Using a watercolour effect, images are blended into each other to represent the fluidity and diversity of the community. The rainbow colours promote the inclusion and togetherness seen in the local, multicultural community, while also making strong links to Pride and the NHS.
